Research published today from thinktank Public First, commissioned by Google, says  61% of British jobs will be “radically” transformed by AI, with just 31% “insulated” from the technology – defined as having fewer than a quarter of their workplace tasks with the potential to be automated.

The findings which were published in The Guardian and Yahoo News, confirm that jobs in every sector will be affected by AI, though, mostly that AI will enhance or improve current jobs, with certain sectors such as social care, transportation, accommodation and food services, being least affected, because are best suited at managing complex tasks in these sectors.

The Guardian article cites Public First saying: "...100 hours a year could be saved by the average British worker using generative AI, a gain which, Google claims, is the biggest improvement to worker productivity “since the arrival of Google Search."

As a result of the research, Google are working with key stakeholders such as schools to better understand and learn how AI can be better implemented in business.
